Just across the border

kara_125x153.jpg     Living in Cloverdale gives you easy access to the USA and that has its perks!

One of the great things About living in Coverdale is the proximity to the border crossings. In 15 - 20 minuets (depending on the wait times) you can be in the USA. It is great for retail shopping, groceries, gas and my favourite dining out.
I love to experience new places to eat and when you come across a good restaurant it is only fair to share that place with your friends.
Recently I had the pleasure of eating at Jack Niemann's Black Forest Steak House in Blaine Washington. It is right on Peace Portal way over looking the harbour. This place is a diamond in the rough. Blaine has struggled for the last few years and even though it is a great place to antique and thrift shop it was lacking in the restaurant department. Now with this new Steak House it is buzzing down there during the dinner hour.
Black Forest has a wonderful atmosphere inside, great decor and a scrumptious menu. It is slowly bringing new life to that part of the world.
I was there with my husband and folks just the other night and each one of us had top notch service and meals. I enjoyed a steak cooked to perfection with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Sounds boring but joking aside it was perfect! The starters come out fast and are super delicious. We had the olive tapenade, artichoke dip and cesar salad.
So if you are looking for a mini getaway check out this steak house. Unfortunately they do not have an active website so you will just have to make an adventure out of it! Bon appetite.

You can check out the link below for the address. Just google the name if you would like more feedback on this great place to eat :)
